Cradled Wood Panels

A Cradled Wood Panel is a wooden frame with a board attached to it.

  • The durable wooden structure accepts almost any medium and can prevent paintings from warping over time.

  • They come in all shapes and sizes.

  • Bracing on panels are generally added to larger sizes. This is not needed on smaller panels.

  • The cradled wooden panel will last longer since it resists flexing, stretching, and warping.

  • You can hang your final work without a frame when using a cradled panel.

  • When your artwork is completed, you can easily hang it using a single nail or screw.

    • I hang my small paintings using steel push pins with a long throw.

    • As my panels get larger I use D rings with wire.
